FAQ'S

GOT QUESTIONS?

We've got the answers!
  • Can you accommodate allergies?

Yes, we most often can accommodate allergies. Some common ones:

Dairy:  there’s not typically dairy in any of our food.  Very occasionally it features in a special bowl, but there is no dairy in our regular menu items at present.

Nuts:  There are no peanuts on site.  There are generally no nuts except for cashews, which are only present in our vegan eggs.  The vegan eggs are made in a separate prep kitchen in advance, and are held on the line for service.  There are typically no other nuts on the menu.

Sesame:  there is sesame in several items.  Sesame seeds are sprinkled on almost every bowl.  The risk of cross contamination with sesame is definitely present.  Should you have a sesame allergy, please know that we will be very careful, and that there is a lot of sesame in house.

Eggs: there are no eggs in anything except for the yuzu aioli that accompanies the Karaage.  We can easily switch the sauce to out hot honey.

Shellfish:  only present in our wontons, which are prepared in a separate kitchen and cooked in separate water to order.

Fish: we have many items without fish.  We have many items with fish!  Please speak to your server.

  • Can you accommodate a gluten free diet?

    Yes.

We substitute our classic wheat noodle with a mung-bean based glass vermicelli noodle.

There are a few items on our menu that cannot be made gluten free, namely our ramen eggs, pork belly, pickled shiitake mushrooms and wontons.  All other items are, or can be made, GF.  Please notify your server of all allergies.

If you are ordering on-line, please communicate your GF needs in the notes.

  • Do you take reservations?

Yes.  You can book a reservation on our website.  Please include all relevant information, like whether or not you are dining with children, if you need a highchair, if you have a hard deadline that you need to be out by, if you’re celebrating something/someone.

Also please note that we do not accept on-line reservations for parties that are larger than six people.

We can often accommodate bigger parties, but these reservations need to be made by calling the restaurant at 289.389.3064

Please, if you make a reservation and something comes up, give us a call and cancel.  We often have a waitlist, and it’s a shame to leave tables sitting empty.  Not to mention that it effects our revenue!

  • Is there parking?

Yes.  There is street parking on King William.  It is metered and diligently monitored by our municipal parking authority!  Please pay immediately and set yourself a timer for when your meter runs out.

The parking authorities are ON IT out there!

Street parking is free after 6pm and on weekends.

There are lots on three sides of us.

    • James and King William, south west corner:  this lot is often full during weekdays.
    • John and King William, north east corner:  also fairly small, hit or miss availability
    • Rebecca between John and Hughson, accessed from John Street:  this is the biggest and closest lot in the area.

Please allow yourself extra time to find parking downtown if you are driving.  It is often busy and finding parking can take a minute!

  • Do you have vegetarian/vegan options?

We sure do!  We pride ourselves on our inclusive dining values!  We have extensive vegetarian/vegan options that are still expanding!

  • Do you do takeout orders?

You can order takeout from us on our website for pickup or delivery, on Uber for delivery, and by walking in or calling.

During peak season, it's not always possible to manage takeout orders in addition to a full dining room with a wait list.

During Spring and Summer, we have much more flexibility, and do our best to say yes to takeout all the time!  That said, we still may be required to turn on-line ordering platforms off when things gt busy in the restaurant!
